Superfamily: Canoidea

Dogs, bears, raccoons, and weasels have tympanic bulla formed from tympanic bone only; not divided into 2 chambers.  They have a long canal beneath bulla; paroccipital process prominent and independent of bullae. Claws are nonretractile while the cecum present or absent with a  well developed baculum  that is usually monestrous.
