Virtualology Endorses John McCain For President

Virtualology Endorses Senator John McCain

Palm Harbor, Florida -- Friday, January 25, 2008

History, time and time again, has reported that the people of the United States find it impossible to look up to leaders who keep their ears to the polling ground during times of war and economic strife.

Candidate McCain, however, knew that the people of United States had the wings of an Eagle and reminded them that they could soar above any obstacle. McCain’s message and vision stayed the course when many others retreated in the tremors of public opinion:

· The most sacred responsibility vested in a president - the commander-in-chief - is to "preserve and protect" American citizens. America owes its liberty, its prosperity, and its future to our veterans who have dedicated their lives to protecting our great country and we must not fail in Iraq.

· America's economic progress requires that the federal government abide by the same standards of common sense and fiscal restraint as hardworking families. Taxes should be low, simple, and fair. Government does not create jobs and prosperity, capital does and if you tax it all away the quality of American Life will decline.

The true nature of an individual emerges in the choices they make under pressure. With his choices Senator John McCain has proven in Vietnam, on the Senate Floor, and in two Presidential Campaigns that he is a man of intelligence, character, and good will determined to protect and serve the United States of America.

On a personal note, in the summer of 1994 Stanley L. Klos, Virtualology ‘s Founder and then West Virginia U. S. Senate Republican Nominee, was invited to Capital Hill for a luncheon with the GOP Members of the United States Senate. At that luncheon Klos was asked to discuss his nomination, ideas, and even encouraged to request help from the honorable members in his bid to unseat U.S. Senate Appropriations Chairman Robert C. Byrd. Like Mitt Romney, (who was recruited to oppose Senator Ted Kennedy in 1994), Klos was challenging an entrenched incumbent with a mission to force Byrd to utilize valuable Democrat State and National 1994 campaign resources rather than run unopposed without costs.

Klos’ nomination was part of an overall GOP strategy to successfully re-capture a U.S. Senate Republican Majority in the 1994 election. At the luncheon Klos presented the Senators with a straightforward endorsement letter supporting his Candidacy to unseat Chairman Byrd who was the major legislative impediment to the Balance Budget Amendment and Line-item-Veto.

Only Senator John McCain, in a room full of conservative GOP Senators spoke favorably of the endorsement proposal and agreed to sign the letter. Other members shook their heads no or remained silent with some apologizing after the lunch for not signing the letter due to Senator Byrd’s Chairmanship on Appropriations.

McCain, above all others then as now, proved he was a true fiscal conservative endorsing a Nominee on the points of a Balance Budget Amendment and Line-item Veto knowing Klos could not possibly win. McCain has been an island of fiscal responsibility in the U.S. Senate often alienating the GOP leadership for tackling the ballooning federal deficit at the expense of Republican Pork.

Courage is the foremost of human character because it is the quality which guarantees all others. The founders of the United States of America understood this and so does John McCain. Virtualology urges all who have the opportunity to vote in a Republican Primary, to choose John McCain.

ABOUT VIRTUALOLOGY

The Virtualology Project, currently enjoys 60,000 visitors daily to its various websites. Founded in 1999, Virtualologydesigned its own search engine, Evisum.com [2] and coupled it with an online research model that included over 7,500 unique URL addresses of notable individuals (GaiusJuliusCaesar.com), events (BattleofYorktown.com), places (HimalayaMountains.com) and things (thedeclarationofindependence.org). In 1999, this enabled visitors to merely type the researched name into any browser, yielding a Virtualology ™ educational site. These educational sites were organized into five virtual museums and one virtual library.

The distinctive twist was that each domain name became an exclusive student-publishing web site. Student submissions were presented through their teachers and routed directly to the individual sites either to the URLS' editing sponsors or to Virtual/Ology ™ Editors. Editing sponsors were comprised of educators from a variety of educational institutions including museums, libraries, foundations, universities, and historical societies who became responsible for their URL’s content.

Virtualology created an environment where students published their work on URLS named for the topic of their research. 13 months after Virtualology's ™ launch USA Today voted it as one of its “Hot Sites”.[3] Stanley L. Klos, founder wrote:

Instead of our children pointing to their initials on the top of some mall video game; they can give their family and friends the URL address to their published paper at gaiusjuliuscaesar.com or map sketch at ferdinandmagellan.com or photo at himalayamountains.com or model at tyrannosaurusrex.org or oil painting at michaelangelobuonarot.com celebrating their academic achievements. Great student works would no longer be limited to the refrigerator door!

Editing sponsors reviewed, selected student works and Virtualology posted the papers, photos, drawings, videos etc… to the appropriate domain URLS. The concept, however, faltered with the collapse of internet advertising revenue in 2001. Additionally students and teachers in 1999-2001 were not internet savvy and there was only a minor interest in the online student publishing opportunities.

Virtualology was a Millennium dot.com survivor and continues with its mission to

“foster an understanding of humanity's great moments, exceptional minds, remarkable talents, infamous actions, great events, natural history, scientific discoveries, and the celebration of individuals.”

The Virtualology Project, in addition to its founding content, placed Appleton’s Cyclopedia of American Biography, online at www.famousamericans.net in 2002 to compliment the historic domain names.

Many of the original domain names set aside for student publishing, were donated to[4] libraries [5] foundations, [6]universities, and historical societies [7] that participated in the early Virtualology student publishing. Several organizations have continued with the Virtualology student publishing model at their respective sites with some awarding college scholarships to winning entries [8]

The
Virtualology Project has since relocated to Palm Harbor, Florida with Founder Stanley L. Klos and his eight children who help maintain the websites. They are currently beta testing Peter Force's American Archives [9] at americanarchives.net which will be added to the Virtualologycontent in 2008.
