Petition to retain Villages of the Wyandotte Indians. The Wyandotte Indians petition to retain their villages and
homes at Brownstown and Mongauga, south of Detroit along the Detroit River.
The petition further states that the representatives of other tribes have
signed not because of personal interest but to demonstrate their support for the
Wyandots.
The Wyandotte Indians did not receive the assurances they desired regarding their villages in the Michigan Territory as evidence by another petition to Congress in 1812 on the same subject.
